Oh Dear… This is gross!

I must warn you… this. gets. gross.

I’m frugal, cheap, a penny-pincher – whatever you want to call it… I hate spending money. Especially on items I use everyday. So, in the effort of saving money I cloth diaper my son. We’ve had our ups and downs but all in all it’s been a good experience and I would recommend all parents to give it a shot. It’s not all pins and folding sheets anymore – It’s not hard.

BUT… there is a but – there are those moments when I wish my son was wearing a disposable. And I think you may have an idea as to when that is.

So let me tell you how it happened. My son has been on antibiotics for the last 10 days and that has made a HUGE impact on his poops/bowel movements (call it what you want). It seems every time I give him a bottle, he poops *hangs head in despair*. Well, they haven’t been huge poops – at least – not until yesterday.

I gave him a bath and then a bottle. Time for a nice long na… uhoh not his poopy face. I admit, if I can get him to the toilet in time, I will let him poop there (less mess when it comes time to do diaper laundry. 🙂

We didn’t make it. (Avert your eyes if you are squeamish – the picture will haunt you!)

A poop explosion - eww
A poop explosion – eww

Ok – Maybe the picture isn’t going to “haunt” you but you get the point.

Here is what happened

It was everywhere! All over his legs and back – he kicked his legs and it got on his socks. I peeled his socks off and somehow poop flung off his socks onto… wait for it…

my eyelid *shudder*

Gross right! It doesn’t stop there! I somehow get his onesie off without smearing it on his head (go momma) and then try my best at wiping it all away. I take his diaper off and put it aside – oh no… Jackson don’t grab that – oh this has gone past the realm of gross. Jackson grabbed the diaper and with my superfast mommy reflexes, I snatch it away and plop him in the tub.

There is only so much a wipe can clean. Thank the Lord for soap and water.

As I’m finishing up this entry, my son decides now is the perfect time to… well you know. haha

Every mommy has one of these days. Had to share mine 😉
